About
Dr Katherine McCullough brings a wealth of clinical and academic expertise to her private practice at Nuffield Health Guildford Hospital.
With specialist interests in diabetes, obesity, thyroid disorders and pituitary conditions, she offers patients evidence-based care grounded in years of front-line experience and research leadership.
Katherine is also the founder of a private Long Covid Clinic in Guildford, supporting patients with persistent symptoms more than 12 weeks after initial infection. Her approach is multidisciplinary, personalised and informed by her extensive work in Covid-19 clinical trials and high-dependency care.
Alongside her clinical role, Katherine is the Divisional Research Lead for Medicine at Royal Surrey County Hospital and holds an honorary contract with the University of Surrey. She has published widely, presented internationally, and appeared across media platforms including the BBC, sharing insights on diabetes, appetite regulation and NHS innovation.
Her academic journey began at the University of Edinburgh, where she graduated with a First Class Honours degree in neuroscience as part of her medical training. She later completed a PhD in diabetes and novel obesity treatments through a prestigious Wellcome Trust fellowship at Imperial College London, where she also served as a Clinical Lecturer.
