Dr Jonathan Carter is a Consultant Dermatologist providing expert care in both the NHS and private sectors, welcoming private patients to his clinics at Nuffield Health Warwickshire Hospital. Renowned for his friendly and approachable bedside manner, Dr Carter combines extensive clinical knowledge with over 14 years of experience as a full-time NHS Consultant at the South Warwickshire University NHS Foundation Trust, where he has served since 2012. Over his career, he has developed expertise in the advanced diagnosis, management, and treatment of complex skin conditions, hair disorders, and nail complaints.

As a comprehensive skin specialist, Dr Carter manages all adult dermatological conditions, with clinical interests in the treatment of chronic inflammatory skin disorders such as severe eczema (atopic dermatitis), psoriasis, rosacea and acne vulgaris. He is also a highly skilled dermatological surgeon, offering advanced skin cancer diagnostics - including precise mole checks utilising dermoscopy - for the early detection of melanoma and non-melanoma skin cancers (BCC and SCC). At Nuffield Health Warwickshire Hospital, he performs delicate skin surgery for the effective removal of both benign skin lesions (such as cysts, lipomas, and skin tags) and malignant skin tumours.

Dr Carter’s robust clinical foundation began at the University of Liverpool Medical School, where he graduated in 1997. He went on to complete his comprehensive general medical training and highly competitive specialist dermatology training within the West Midlands deanery. To further his diagnostic precision, he completed a prestigious Clinical Fellowship in Dermatopathology at Warwick Hospital, gaining specialised expertise in the microscopic study of skin tissues, which allows him to bridge the gap between clinical observation and accurate cellular diagnosis.
