Dr John Wong is a Consultant Physician and Gastroenterologist practising privately at Nuffield Health Warwickshire Hospital in Leamington Spa. With over three decades of clinical experience since qualifying in 1993, Dr Wong provides comprehensive, expert care for patients experiencing complex gastrointestinal and liver conditions. Dr Wong completed his medical training at the University of Wales College of Medicine, followed by rigorous specialist gastroenterology training across the West Midlands, including the renowned Liver Unit in Birmingham. Driven by a commitment to clinical excellence, he went on to complete a dedicated research fellowship at the Peninsula Medical School, culminating in a Doctorate of Medicine (M.D.) award in 2005. 
 
Dr Wong is widely recognised for advanced interventional endoscopy and pancreatico-biliary procedures. He performs routine upper and lower gastrointestinal investigations, including diagnostic and therapeutic gastroscopy (OGD), colonoscopy and flexible sigmoidoscopy. Beyond standard endoscopy procedures, Dr Wong is highly skilled in complex, specialised interventions such as Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS), endoscopic dilatation, stenting and endobariatric procedures (intragastric balloon, endoscopic sleeve gastroplasty). This unique skill set allows him to deliver minimally invasive, highly effective therapeutic options for complex bile duct, pancreatic, and oesophageal issues, and non-surgical weight loss treatments, bridging the gap between diagnosis and advanced treatment. 
 
In addition to his private practice in Leamington Spa, Dr Wong holds a substantive NHS post as a Consultant Physician and Gastroenterologist at University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust, where he has served the local community since 2004. He remains at the absolute forefront of his field through active memberships in leading international medical bodies, including the British Society of Gastroenterology (BSG), British Association for the Study of the Liver (BASL), and the British Obesity and Metabolic Specialist Society (BOMSS). He is also a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians (FRCP London) and a Fellow of the European Board of Gastroenterology and Hepatology (FEBGH), reflecting the highest professional standards in his speciality.
