Dr Hossam Attia

Dr Hossam Attia is a Consultant Medical Oncologist, specialising in the treatment of lung, renal, and head and neck cancers. He brings more than 15 years of postgraduate training and research experience in medical oncology and internal medicine to his clinical practice.

His work is centred on delivering evidence‑based cancer care, supported by active involvement in clinical research and medical education. At Royal Surrey, he collaborates closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure oncology services remain aligned with the latest advances in cancer treatment and uphold high standards of patient‑centred care.

Alongside his NHS role, Dr Attia also practices as a Consultant Medical Oncologist at Nuffield Health Guildford Hospital. He completed his specialist oncology training at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, achieving his Certificate of Completion of Training. His earlier experience includes clinical research fellowships and specialty doctor posts at Royal Surrey, as well as oncology training and practice at Cambridge University Hospitals.

Dr Attia began his oncology career at Cairo University, working as a Medical Oncologist at Elmanial Specialised University Hospital. He has extensive experience in clinical research and continues to contribute to the advancement of oncology practice through research, teaching, and supervision of junior doctors.
