About
I am a GP with over 20 years of experience, now specialising in genomic and precision medicine. Over the past five years, I have focused on integrating genetic insights with comprehensive lifestyle medicine to deliver truly personalised healthcare. My approach is unique in that I combine my understanding of everyday health concerns with how your genetic makeup influences your risk of future disease.
I completed my first degree in Chemistry at the University of Oxford before studying Medicine at St Bartholomew’s and the Royal London School of Medicine. After working in major teaching hospitals in London, I moved into general practice, working across the NHS and private sectors in NE London and Essex.
More recently, I completed a Master’s degree in Genomic Medicine from Cambridge University and have developed expertise in using genetic information to predict, prevent and manage disease. I also hold a Diploma in Lifestyle Medicine, which enables me to address how diet, exercise, stress, and sleep interact with your genetic predispositions.
I provide Precision GP services, utilising information about your medical history, circumstances, and genetics (or family history) to create personalised health plans specifically designed for you.
I helped develop the Family History and Genetic Risk Assessment Clinic. This clinic is ideal if you believe you may be at risk of an inherited health condition such as heart disease, cancer and diabetes. The extended appointment time allows me to conduct a comprehensive review of your family history and help you understand your unique health risks based on your genetic profile. Together, we can develop proactive strategies to reduce your risk.
Special interests
- Genetics – using insights from your family history to identify risks of diseases such as high cholesterol, heart disease, diabetes and cancer.
- Lifestyle Medicine – addressing the root causes of chronic disease using evidence-based lifestyle interventions.
- Chronic Medical Condition Management – comprehensive management of conditions, including heart disease and diabetes, incorporating conventional treatment and lifestyle approaches.
My subspecialty interest in genetic medicine, preventive healthcare, and early cancer diagnosis keeps me at the cutting edge of modern medicine. I teach GPs and GP trainees about genomic medicine and work as a GP Appraiser and Examiner, ensuring I stay current with the latest advances in the field.

Research
I am currently involved in research on polygenic risk scores, investigating how they might be used in primary care to predict the likelihood of developing common diseases such as heart disease, diabetes, and cancer.
