About
Dr Selvaraj is a Consultant Gastroenterologist specialising in disorders of the gastrointestinal tract, liver, pancreas, and biliary system. He provides personalised, compassionate care, with friendly and unhurried consultations focused on clear and empathetic communication.
Dr Selvaraj graduated with distinction from Barts and The London School of Medicine, University of London. He completed his postgraduate training in Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and General Internal Medicine in London and Oxford, and was awarded a PhD from the University of Oxford for his research into liver disease. He subsequently undertook an advanced endoscopy fellowship in Oxford, with a particular focus on pancreatobiliary medicine.
He performs a full range of diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures, including upper gastrointestinal endoscopy (OGD), flexible sigmoidoscopy, colonoscopy, ERCP, endoscopic ultrasound (EUS), and capsule endoscopy. He teaches undergraduate medical students at Warwick and Buckingham Medical Schools. He is also actively involved in clinical research as a principal investigator for several studies.
Dr Selvaraj has extensive experience in managing common gastrointestinal symptoms such as acid reflux, swallowing difficulties, abdominal pain, bloating, nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, constipation, rectal bleeding, anaemia, and abnormal liver function tests. His specialist interests include chronic liver conditions, pancreatic and biliary disorders.

Research
Dr Selvaraj was awarded a DPhil from the University of Oxford for research into non-invasive imaging in liver and pancreatobiliary disease. He was invited to present his work at national and international conferences and has authored several publications in high-impact medical journals. As the primary investigator, he currently supports the implementation of National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) clinical trials in Endoscopy and Hepatology.
