About
Dr Charles Li is a Consultant Rheumatologist and General Physician with extensive experience in diagnosing and treating a wide range of musculoskeletal and autoimmune conditions.
He has particular expertise in inflammatory arthritis, connective tissue diseases (including lupus), muscle diseases and osteoporosis.
In addition to working at Nuffield Health Guildford Hospital, Dr Li has been a Consultant Rheumatologist and Physician at the Royal Surrey County Hospital since 2007.

Dr Li is known for a thorough, patient-focused approach, taking time to clearly explain diagnoses and treatment options, helping patients feel confident in their care and long-term management.
Education
He graduated from Imperial College London, with pre-clinical training at Queen’s College, Cambridge, and became a Member of the Royal College of Physicians in 1997. He completed specialist training in London across leading teaching hospitals, including the Royal Free Hospital and University College Hospital.
Alongside his clinical training, Dr Li completed a PhD at University College London, focusing on the immunobiology of muscle disease. This research underpins his specialist interest in autoimmune and inflammatory conditions.
