About
Dr Modi is a leading Consultant Cardiologist and Honorary Associate Professor, specialising in General and Interventional Cardiology. He works in the NHS at Glenfield Hospital and privately across the East Midlands. He is an Honorary Senior Lecturer at the University of Leicester and also an Honorary Consultant Cardiologist at University College London Hospitals.
Dr Modi studied medicine at Cambridge University and University College London. Following this, he was awarded membership of the Royal College of Physicians whilst training at Hammersmith, UCLH, Harefield and the Royal Brompton Hospitals. During his Cardiology training, he did research in Cardiovascular Physiology, which was funded by a prestigious BHF fellowship. This gained him an award-winning PhD degree from St Thomas' Hospital and the University of London in 2018. Following this, Dr Modi completed cardiology training and a post-CCT fellowship at Barts Heart Centre.
Dr Modi regularly publishes articles in medical journals and is a leading investigator on several major cardiology research trials. In 2021, he also led the transformation of heart attack pathways in Leicestershire.
Dr Modi sees patients for a range of conditions including Chest Pain, Breathlessness, Palpitations, High Blood Pressure and Cholesterol. In addition, he is a leading expert in Coronary Artery Disease, Angiography, Angioplasty and Stenting.
