About
Dr Athinodoros Valavanis is a UK trained Consultant Neurologist with a specialist interest in movement disorders. He qualified in Medicine from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece, in 2004 and completed postgraduate training in general adult neurology before undertaking a fellowship at the UCL Queen Square Institute of Neurology and The National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery in London.
Dr Valavanis has worked as a Consultant Neurologist across several NHS trusts in the UK and was awarded a PhD by the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in 2020 for his research and contributions to projects in multiple sclerosis.
He has extensive experience in the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of neurological conditions. His specialist interests include Parkinson's disease, essential tremor, dystonia, multiple sclerosis and headaches. He also provides Botulinum toxin injection treatment for conditions including cervical dystonia, blepharospasm, hemifacial spasm and spasticity.
