About
Dr Asad Ali trained as a junior doctor and then as a specialist trainee in respiratory and general medicine in the West Midlands. He received further training in sleep medicine and non-invasive ventilation and completed European qualifications as a certified sleep expert.
Dr Ali has a keen interest in research, running and participating in various trials. He looks after patients with shortness of breath complaints, respiratory illnesses e.g COPD, Asthma, lung cancer, pleural disease, pleural effusions, etc. and also provides a specialist service for sleep apnoea - both obstructive and central, sleep walking, sleep talking, narcolepsy and all other sleep disorders. He also provides care for the patients in ventilatory failure needing support at home.
Dr Ali supervises,
supports and leads various services at regional level. He is a keen teacher and
trainer with various responsibilities and trainees from medical and non-medical
backgrounds.
Special interests
Respiratory disorders; COPD, asthma, lung cancer, pleural disease and unexplained shortness of breath.
Sleep Disorders; sleep apnoea, sleep walking and talking, REM sleep disorders, narcolepsy, bronchoscopy, sleep tests and pleural procedures.
Personal interests
Squash and Cricket are my sporting interests which he actively participates in.
