About
Dr Anurag Bharadwaj is a Consultant Rheumatologist at Nuffield Health Brentwood Hospital. Dr Bharadwaj has been working as a Consultant Rheumatologist in the UK since August 2008. He is clinical lead for the Rheumatology department at Basildon Hospital where he is based for his NHS work. His commitments involve outpatients’ clinics including a speciality clinic for Early Inflammatory Arthritis, Connective Tissue disorders and Vasculitis. He regularly performs Ultrasounds of the musculoskeletal system for diagnosis and treatment. His interests involve Fibromyalgia and soft tissue rheumatism.
Dr Bharadwaj worked as a Consultant Rheumatologist (Associate Professor, Medicine and lead Unit of Rheumatology) until 2003 in a university hospital in India. He did his training as Registrar in Rheumatology (Eastern Deanery) in UK, completed his postgraduate training in Internal medicine (1994) and Clinical Immunology-Rheumatology (1998) in India.
Dr Bharadwaj established a Unit of Rheumatology and Immunology at Pokhara (Nepal) and Manipal (India). From 1991 onwards he regularly held bedside clinics and demonstrations for the undergraduate students, including extensive teaching experiences for one year at Melaka Manipal Medical College in Malaysia.
As part of Immunology-Rheumatology training Dr Bharadwaj studied major immunological laboratory techniques and rheumatological procedures. He has worked in General Internal Medicine since 1991 (his entry point in Internal Medicine, MD programme). It was this that gave him confidence in managing emergency care, inpatient and outpatient care of medical patients.

Autoimmune Rheumatological conditions, Inflammatory arthritis (including Rheumatoid arthritis and Ankylosing Spondylitis), Connective Tissue diseases (including Lupus, vasculitis and other autoimmune disorders, Raynaud's Disease, Fibromyalgia, Soft Tissue Rheumatism & Osteoporosis.
