About

Dr Liu is a consultant cardiologist at the Royal Sussex County Hospital, where he is the clinical lead for cardiac sarcoidosis.

His expertise includes the diagnosis and management of patients with heart failure, cardiac sarcoidosis and inflammatory heart conditions, such as those related to infections and autoimmune conditions.

He also specialises in advanced cardiac imaging, having obtained international accreditations, and runs regular lists in cardiac MRI and coronary CT.

Dr Liu is an honorary assistant professor at the Brighton and Sussex Medical School, leading active research in cardiac imaging and inflammatory heart diseases. He has authored over 50 publications in international medical journals, a clinical textbook chapter, and served as an invited reviewer and editor for journals.

Education

Dr Liu graduated from Imperial College London School of Medicine with distinction in medical sciences, having obtained first-class honours in cardiovascular sciences intercalated BSc.

He completed his specialist cardiology training at the Royal Brompton Hospital in London and was awarded a research MD by the University of St Andrews.
