About
Dr Fahim is a highly experienced lung specialist. He completed his medical degree in 2001 and carried out his early training in the West Midlands. He later moved to Yorkshire for advanced specialist training, where he also completed research leading to a doctorate from the University of Hull.
He treats all general lung and breathing conditions, but he has particular expertise in interstitial lung diseases (ILD). He currently leads the ILD service at the Heart and Lung Centre at New Cross Hospital.
Dr Fahim also has a strong interest in helping people with chronic cough, asthma, COPD, and bronchiectasis, offering thorough assessment and personalised treatment for long‑term airway problems.

Research
Dr Fahim has a very strong academic background and has presented his research findings at international respiratory meetings on a regular basis and is an author of a number of review articles and numerous scientific papers in prestigious peer reviewed respiratory journals. Dr Fahim has been involved in a number of clinical trials relating to Respiratory diseases. During the specialist training, Dr Fahim evaluated the pathogenesis of Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF) as part of higher research degree. His main research interests are interstitial lung disease, COPD and Chronic Cough.
