About
I am a Consultant Gastroenterologist with extensive experience in the diagnosis and management of a wide range of digestive conditions.
I care for patients with the full spectrum of gastrointestinal disorders, including Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis (IBD), irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), acid reflux, swallowing difficulties, indigestion, bowel conditions, and liver and pancreatic disease.
I perform both diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy, including procedures involving the oesophagus, stomach, and colon. I am also an accredited colonoscopist within the NHS Bowel Cancer Screening Programme.
A key area of my practice is my specialist IBD clinic, where I provide dedicated care for patients with Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis, using modern, evidence-based treatments to support long-term health and quality of life.
Education
I trained at the University of Cambridge and University College Hospital, London, and completed my postgraduate training in Bristol, Dunedin (New Zealand), and Nottingham.
Clinical experience
Alongside my clinical work, I have held several senior roles within gastroenterology, including President of the Midlands Gastroenterology Society and Derby Medical Society.
I have also served as Secretary of the British Society of Gastroenterology IBD Section and the UK & Ireland Endoscopic Ultrasound Users Group, and have contributed as a board member of the UK IBD Registry.
