Paying for yourself

It may suit you to pay for your own treatment if you don’t have private medical insurance or if your policy doesn’t cover the treatment you need.

We can give you a guaranteed price tailored to your individual treatment that includes all hospital costs, your Consultant’s fee and your anaesthetist fee, if applicable. This gives you peace of mind and ensures that your price will not change, no matter how complex your procedure.

Your Consultant fee for your operation is included in the guaranteed price but please be aware that there is a hospital charge for any procedures and tests undertaken in the Outpatient consulting room. Outpatient and Follow-up Consultant fees are a separate cost to tests and treatments, and will be forwarded separately by your Consultant.

At my Outpatient Appointment

What do I get for my money?
Dedicated time with a specialist consultant focused on you and your treatment.
An appointment that fits around your schedule wherever possible.
The chance to have all your concerns listened to and questions answered.
A clear explanation of your diagnosis, treatment and next steps, including the price of any tests or scans before you have them.
Peace of mind that you are getting the care you need, when you need it.

How much will it cost?
£100-£240 Consultation charge.
Consultation fees are a separate cost to tests and treatment, and will be forwarded separately by your consultant. There is a hospital charge for any tests, scans or treatment undertaken in the consulting room.

What do I get for my money?
Expert attention from a consultant who specialises in your treatment. An operation date that fits around your schedule wherever possible, at the Nuffield Health Hospital  most convenient to you.
A private room with spotlessly clean facilities, where friends and family can visit all day. Any accommodation, Consultant and anaesthetist’s surgery fees, nursing, drugs and dressings are included in the price. Any post-discharge hospital outpatient treatment related to the operation is also included.

We would be happy to give you a guide price for your specific need when you call us on 0845 603 4346. You can also speak to Reception in our hospitals who will be happy to help.

How do I pay?
You pay one price to the hospital. Your consultant’s fee is included, as is everything you need during your treatment.
