Vladimir Bobić is an experienced knee surgeon and director and founder of Chester Knee Clinic (www.kneeclinic.info), based at the Grosvenor Nuffield Hospital in Chester since 1996. Chester Knee Clinic is recognised as an ISAKOS-approved Teaching Centre in knee surgery (www.isakos.com).
Mr Bobić has over 15 years of extensive experience in treating sports knee injuries and osteoarthritis, and all aspects of knee surgery, including arthroscopic surgery, articular cartilage repair, ligament reconstruction, and knee arthroplasty.
He is an internationally recognised expert, and one of the UK’s clinical pioneers, in knee articular cartilage repair. Mr Bobić is the inventor and instrument designer of Arthrex OATS (Osteochondral Autograft Transfer System) articular cartilage repair technology. He performed the first ACI (Autologous Chondrocyte Implantation) in the North West of England in 1998, and continues to perform a wide range of cartilage repair procedures in Chester, including ACI surgery, on a regular basis.
Mr Bobić has over 15 years of experience in digital clinical, surgical and arthroscopic imaging, including video editing, and 10 years of experience in clinical and MR digital imaging of articular cartilage. He introduced web-based MRI TeleRadiology at the Grosvenor Nuffield Hospital in Chester in 2004, in collaboration with the late Gene Hughes, Dr David Ritchie, Kodak and Alliance Medical. He is a founder and former chairman of the ICRS Articular Cartilage Imaging Committee, and Visiting Associate Professor at the Musculoskeletal Imaging Section, Stanford University School of Medicine, Radiology Department, Stanford, California, USA (1998).
