Terms and conditions

Disclaimer

You, the Participant, accept that the HIIT the Streets event (the ‘Event’) will be physically demanding and is only appropriate for persons with a moderate-to-high degree of physical fitness. It is your responsibility to seek appropriate medical advice prior to participation. Participation in the Event is entirely at your own risk and, by entering the Event, you acknowledge that we are not liable for death, injury, loss, or damage arising from your participation in the Event except only to the extent that it is caused by our negligence. Otherwise, our liability is excluded to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law.

You confirm that all details provided by you in the registration form are true and complete, and that you understand and agree with these Terms and Conditions.

Injuries and Personal health and fitness

By signing up to participate in the Event you accept complete responsibility for any injury or accident which may occur while you are travelling to or from the Event, during the Event, or while on the premises of the Event except only to the extent that any such injury or accident is caused by our negligence.

You understand that participating in the Event is potentially hazardous, and you should not enter and participate unless you are medically able to do so.

It is your responsibility to make sure you are medically fit and capable of participating in the Event. We reserve the right, in our absolute discretion, to stop you from taking part in or withdraw you from the Event if we deem you unfit to participate and/or if we think it in your best interest.

You confirm that you have or will, prior to the Event, have completed our Physical Activity Readiness Questionnaire (PARQ).

Medical treatment while attending the HIIT the Streets event

By entering the Event, you are consenting to receive any medical treatment that you may require during your attendance at and/or participation in the Event, whether before, during or after any physical activity, and that such treatment may be administered by the Event’s official medically qualified personnel.

Entry requirements

You must be 18 years of age and over in order to enter and participate in the Event. Entry is free and open to both members and non-members of a Nuffield Health fitness and wellbeing centre. As a condition of entry, you must complete a PARQ, and non-members must fill out a guest Terms and Conditions form agreeing to the terms of use and code of conduct in our fitness and wellbeing centres. These will be provided on arrival at the start point of the Event.

Your event entry/place is not transferable, and you must not under any circumstances give or transfer or purport to give or transfer your Event place to anyone else. If you do so or attempt to do so, your entry place will be forfeited and voided and this will result in immediate ejection of you and the individual(s) concerned from the Event.

Cancelling your place

Entry to the Event is free but if you wish to cancel your place, please email local.marketing@nuffieldhealth.com as soon as possible giving your full name, mobile number and email address so that we can remove you from our Event communications and re-allocate your place as entry numbers are limited.

Travelling to and from the Event

You are solely and entirely responsible for all travel to and from the Event and we will not be liable if you miss the start of the Event as a result of any transportation delays. You must allow sufficient time in order to ensure that you arrive so as to be entirely ready to participate when the Event starts.

Cancellation and Alterations to the Event

We reserve the right, in our absolute discretion, to cancel, delay, alter or shorten the course, or to postpone the Event due to unforeseen or unavoidable circumstances outside of our reasonable control. In such cases, we will endeavour to inform you as quickly as possible.

Where the Event has to be cancelled, delayed, altered or postponed due to circumstances outside of our reasonable control (including for the avoidance of doubt due to adverse weather conditions or as a result of instructions from the emergency services or local authority) we are not be liable for any inconvenience, expenses, costs, losses or damages suffered by you or anyone else.

Animals

Animals will not be permitted at the Event. Regrettably, we are unable to allow guide dogs at the Event for health and safety reasons. If you are visually impaired and have a guide runner to participate with you on the day, please email local.marketing@nuffieldhealth.com.

Bikes, stilts, roller skates, skateboards, buggies, etc.

You are not permitted to use any bikes, stilts, roller skates, skateboards, buggies, or similar aids or devices during the Event and if you attempt to do so you will be prohibited from participating in the Event and may be removed or excluded from the Event route, including mid-route where necessary. Likewise, if you attempt to start or join the Event in any outfit that we, in our absolute discretion, deem unsuitable and/or dangerous to other participants, you will not be allowed to start or participate in the Event or, if you have already started the Event, we may remove you from it.

Music while running

You may use a personal music-playing device whilst participating, but for health and safety reasons and for the enjoyment of all participants we strongly recommend that you do not.

It is important that you are able to hear what is happening around you; this is particularly important in order to allow emergency services and their vehicles to operate safely on the day which they may not be able to do if you are unable to hear what is happening around you throughout the Event.

Consequently, we recommend that iPods, MP3 Players or similar electronic music players should not be worn. You will be held strictly and solely liable if found to be responsible for any harm to yourself or any third party or parties or damage to any property (whether yours or that of a third party) which arises as a result of you wearing any personal music playing device in contradiction of this advice.

Event Ejection

We reserve the right, in our absolute discretion, to refuse to allow you to participate in the Event or, if you have already started, to continue participation in it at any point along the Event route, should you be deemed to behave inappropriately or give cause for concern that your continued participation may cause offence or injury to yourself, any other participant or spectator or member of staff or volunteer.

This includes the wearing of any clothing or visual messages that may cause offence. Failure to comply with any instruction from Nuffield Health staff marshals may result in your ejection from the Event and potentially in you being reported to the police.

Finisher Items

Only those who finish the Event will be entitled to an Event goody bag. Please do not ask for more than one as marshals have been instructed to only issue one per participant and your receiving more than one will deny another finisher from receiving one.

Consent to Use of Image

By taking part in the Event you grant full and irrevocable permission to us, as organisers of the Event, and any third parties authorised by us, to take, use and replicate any photographs, videotapes, motion pictures, website images, recordings or any other record of the Event that may include your image.

You will be required to fill out a participant release form on arrival stating your preferences regarding the use of your image.

Collection and Use of information

Your personal information will only be used by us and any appointed third parties for purposes in connection with the Event and you will only be emailed as per the permissions that you have given within the registration form. For further information on how Nuffield Health processes your personal data see our Privacy Policy | Nuffield Health.

By entering the Event, you acknowledge that we might, at our discretion, pass any medical details you have given us to the medical teams operating on the day of the Event.

Change of email address or telephone number(s)

If your email address and/or telephone number changes, then you must inform us as soon as possible by emailing local.marketing@nuffieldhealth.com. If this is not done, we cannot guarantee that you will receive all Event communications.
