Nuffield Health increases London presence

Nuffield Health, the UK’s leading not-for-profit healthcare organisation, has today expanded its offering in London with the acquisition of two health and fitness clubs, The CityPoint Club and Market Sports.

The acquisitions are part of Nuffield Health’s long term strategy to create a national network of health, fitness and wellbeing centres and increase its presence in key cities throughout the UK.

Located in Moorgate and Shoreditch, the gyms offer Nuffield Health opportunities within key markets. Whilst Shoreditch is rapidly becoming one of the most vibrant entrepreneurial locations in the UK, Moorgate presents an opportunity to expand employee wellbeing services to existing corporate customers and engage with new ones.

Dr Andrew Jones, Managing Director Wellbeing, Nuffield Health comments:

“These acquisitions complement our current offering in London, enabling us to support more local people with our unique integrated health and wellbeing proposition. The addition of the CityPoint club in Moorgate, alongside our existing club at Cannon Street, increases our reach across the City enabling us to offer health checks and physiotherapy to more of London’s workforce.”

Other major cities where Nuffield Health has already started implementing its strategy, include Manchester where there are plans for a network of health and wellbeing centres to help the community address their health and fitness, as well as working with employers of Manchester to help them support their employees better to prevent ill-health.

As a result of today’s announcement, Nuffield Health now operates 77 consumer gyms and 208 corporate fitness and wellbeing sites.
