Taunton Hospital - Staplegrove Elm, Taunton, TA2 6AN

This free virtual event at Nuffield Health Taunton Hospital is for anyone who would like to find out more about refractive lens surgery as a treatment option for sight correction.

Until the early 1990’s, anyone with sight issues had no choice but to correct their vision with either spectacles or contact lenses. However, significant developments over recent years in surgical techniques, laser technology and intraocular lenses mean it is now possible to permanently correct sight problems such as short-sight, long-sight, and astigmatism.

Refractive lens surgery is designed to make you less dependent on glasses and contact lenses, helping you to lead an active lifestyle more easily.  It eliminates the need for cataract surgery in later life, and your spectacle prescription normally remains stable after the treatment.

This event will give you the opportunity to book a mini one-to-one session with Mr Indy Sian, Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon at Taunton Hospital. During this ten minute session, held virtually on Microsoft Teams, you can hear about refractive lens surgery, treatment options, procedure details and outcomes, and ask any questions you may have.

Once you have registered for the event using the form below, a member of our team will be in contact to book a timeslot. You will be emailed a Microsoft Teams link, which you can use to join the session from your computer or phone, prior to the event.
