Who would benefit from our sports injury clinic?

Any individual who has an injury that has happened during sport, or has suffered pain, swelling or loss of movement after sports participation could benefit from this new clinic.

We can deal with many types of joint and muscle injuries including

  • Knee sprains
  • Twists
  • Dislocations
  • Hamstrings and thigh injuries.

Ideally, you should book an appointment within 14 days of sustaining your injury. But if you have an older injury then we will also see people with on-going injuries.

What happens during an appointment?

On arrival at the clinic, you will be seen by one of our top orthopaedic consultants and you will also have an X-ray taken of your knee. This clinic will provide a rapid specialist diagnosis and treatment plan allowing for a speedy return to work and sports participation. (Typically, serious knee injuries can take anywhere between 6 weeks and 18 months to be seen to by a knee specialist).

Meet our consultant surgeon: Mr Peter Gallacher

This clinic is held with one of the area’s top sports knee consultants Mr Peter Gallacher. He is a consultant surgeon with a special interest in sports injuries and disorders of the knee joint.

He underwent his specialist orthopaedic training on the highly regarded Oswestry training program at the Robert Jones & Agnes Hunt NHS Foundation Trust and was fortunate enough to train under Dai Rees and the sports injuries team.

How do I book an appointment?

For this clinic there is no need to see a GP. Patients can book directly by calling 01743 282628 and our customer service team will be able to arrange an appointment at a convenient time for you.
