Welcome to our Children's Day Nursery

Children aged between 3 months - 5 years will flourish in our loving 'home-from-home' environment that encourages exploration and investigation through play.

With our extensive range of resources, your child will be able to discover their individual level of understanding, following the Early Years Foundation Stage framework.

The children here are encouraged to be independent learners and explore their environment.

We provide activities to support the children in the 7 key areas of learning:

  1. Physical Development
  2. Personal, Social and Emotional Development
  3. Communication and Language
  4. Literacy
  5. Maths
  6. Expressive Arts and Design
  7. Understanding the World.

Your first day at our Brondesbury Park nursery

On your first day you'll need to bring:

  • A pack of disposable nappies
  • Wipes
  • Nappy rash cream
  • Spare clothes (in case of accidents)
  • Sunhat and sun cream for the warmer months
  • Wellies and rain coat for wet weather.
Milk and food

We do ask that you prepare your baby's bottles prior to bringing them into the nursery and at the end of the day the bottles go back in your bag ready for the following day.

We provide cow's milk for those babies who have reached this stage. All feeder cups and bibs are provided and all the necessary equipment is sterilised accordingly.

Weaning

As your baby starts weaning we'll work alongside you to help maintain your baby's important routine. All foods are prepared by our catering company considering individual dietary requirements, but if you do wish to bring your own food during the initial weaning stage that is fine too.

Daily communication books

We do verbal handovers to parents at the end of the day and a weekly communication book written up by your child's designated key person detailing all food, drink, nappy changes etc.

Sleep times

Each baby is allocated a clean cot sheet, daily. Sleep areas are monitored up to a maximum of every 10 minutes. All checks are documented on our sleep chart. Your child’s sleep times and length of sleep will be written in your child’s daily communication book too.

Medication Under Ofsted regulation we are only allowed to administer medicine which has been prescribed by a doctor. If your child needs prescribed medicine you will be asked to fill in a medicine form giving instruction on dosage and time etc. upon arrival.

You will be asked to sign a form at the end of the day to show that you have the correct information about your child’s medication. We can administer Calpol in an emergency but only with prior consent from a parent. We only give Calpol if your child has a high temperature and we have contacted you by telephone to request your verbal consent.

If your child continues to run a high temperature we will try to reduce it by cooling the child with damp cloths and the removal of clothing. If this does not work we will request that you collect your child from nursery and seek medical assistance. In extreme medical circumstances or if we cannot make contact with you or the recorded emergency contact person we will call for an ambulance.

Accidents

During your child’s time at nursery, should your child have an accident it will be dealt with by our trained first-aiders. All details of the accident will be recorded on a paper form and electronically. You will be asked to sign the completed form when you collect your child.

Learning journals

Each child has their own learning journal in which their key person will record how your child is developing and progressing. This is done through observations and assessment of their play.

By observing your child we can use this information to update our future planning and ensure that all your child’s individual targets are being achieved. Each observation and assessment made on your child is recorded in their learning journey profile.

You're welcome to access your child’s profile at any time, and we share the file with you three times a year at parent’s evening. We hope this information has been helpful, but should there by anything else you need to know please feel free to contact us and we'll be happy to help!
