He has been lead trainer on the Royal College of Ophthalmologists microsurgical course and trains eye doctors from all over the world.
Mr Simcock has a national clinical excellence award for his duties to the NHS and has been on the Training Committee of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists and Chair of the Equivalence of Training Committee.
He has also been Lead Clinical, Audit lead and College Tutor in his NHS post.

Mr Simcock is a cataract and retina specialist and performs all types of cataract surgery including premium toric lenses and ways of reducing dependence on glasses. He performs all types of retinal surgery and has been at the forefront of developing limited posture techniques for macular hole surgery as well as combined surgery with lens removal at the time of vitrectomy to avoid subsequent cataract surgery. He is also a macular specialist and can provide all types of injection and laser treatments for macular degeneration, diabetic eye disease and retinal vein occlusions.
Mr Simcock enjoys the outdoor life with his, wife and young family and at weekends goes exploring in his VW Campervan with bikes and surfboards aboard.
