David Shewring specialises in Hand and Wrist surgery. He qualified as a doctor in1984 after training at the Welsh National School of Medicine in Cardiff. After training in orthopaedic surgery in Southampton, Cambridge and Cardiff he trained as a specialist Hand Surgeon in Oxford before appointment as Hand Surgeon to the University Hospital of Wales in 1995.
David set up the Hand Surgery service in Cardiff and runs the Hand Injury Unit, which receives referrals from far afield. He has an international reputation for his work on hand fractures.
