Mr Noyes graduated from the University of Manchester in 1999. He trained as an orthopaedic surgeon as part of the Oxford Regional Training Programme. He then spent a year on the International Trauma Fellowship in Vancouver, Canada.

On his return to the UK in 2010, he was appointed Consultant in Orthopaedic Trauma at the Oxford Trauma Unit, John Radcliffe Hospital. Here, Mr Noyes, together with eight consultant colleagues, takes responsibility for all major orthopaedic trauma admissions for a population of three million people.

Special interests

  • Management of fractures and tendon injuries of the upper and lower limbs
  • Management of pelvic and acetabular injuries
  • Management of soft tissue injuries to the joints of the arms and legs.

Other interests

Through regular involvement in teaching surgical trauma skills, Mr Noyes supports the growth and development of trauma care. He is an invited faculty member for educational courses around the UK and worldwide. He is also heavily involved in training the Oxford Regional orthopaedic trainees and chairs the Regional Specialist Training Committee.

Personal interests

Sporting activities – watching, participating and supporting my children’s endeavours.
History of performing in rowing and triathlon, but now predominantly a cyclist.

Mr Noyes is membership secretary and founder member of the Orthopaedic Trauma Society (OTS), which was inaugurated in August 2013. The aims of the society are to provide a focus for debate, education, research and training in orthopaedic trauma in the British Isles. Mr Noyes is actively engaged in clinical research and has undertaken the principal investigator role for several large, multi-centre studies.
