David Hartwright is an orthopaedic surgeon with a practice based at the Royal Hampshire County Hospital as well as Nuffield Health Wessex Hospital.
Although trained in general Orthopaedics and Trauma, he specialises in lower limb surgery particularly hip arthroplasty, hip replacement, knee replacement and knee arthroplasty and sports injuries. He completed his Surgical Training in London (based primarily at Guy’s and St Thomas Hospitals) and undertook fellowship training in leading centres in both Australia (Sydney, Perth) and Europe (Switzerland).
Alongside his busy practice, he is actively involved in research and medical education. He was recently awarded an MSc in Orthopaedics (his thesis concerned Total Knee Arthroplasty Surgery) and is an educational supervisor for the Wessex Deanery. He acts as a reviewer for a number of journals and is on the faculty for AO education. He has presented at numerous national and international meetings and has published articles in several leading orthopaedic journals. He is committed to providing excellence in clinical and overall patient care.
Outside of work, David is a keen sportsman with a love of travel.
