Mr David Chadwick

MD, FRCS(Urol)


Mr Chadwick was appointed as a Consultant Urologist in 1995 and has experience in all areas of urology. His urological training took place in Norwich and Leeds and in addition he completed two years of research at Bristol University into various aspects of prostate cancer.  This work included studies on the molecular biology of prostate cancer, assessment of imaging methods used to stage the disease, and in addition the setting up of a pilot study of prostate cancer screening (this being the first such project in the UK). 

Mr Chadwick supervises junior doctor training including that of senior urological trainees and he is a member of the Specialist Training Committee for urological training in the North East.

Mr Chadwick's particular clinical areas of interest are benign and malignant prostate disease and male sexual dysfunction. He runs dedicated prostate cancer NHS clinics and as part of a multidisciplinary team is responsible for the surgical treatment of prostate cancer.  He is experienced in the assessment and treatment (both medical and surgical) of male sexual dysfunction and also has a research interest in this field.
