Professor Benedict Rogers is a Consultant in Orthopaedic & Trauma Surgery consulting in Surrey and Sussex, with clinical and academic interests on hip and knee surgery, sports injuries and trauma. He offers consultations face to face, via video (Zoom, RingCentral, MST) or telephone.
He is an NHS Consultant at Brighton & Sussex University Hospitals NHS Trust and an Honorary Clinical Professor at Brighton & Sussex Medical School (University of Sussex).

A keen sportsman, Benedict was awarded an Oxford Blue (Rugby League) and has completed five Ironman Triathlons. He now regularly runs half marathons for local charities.
Benedict undertook two clinical fellowships at world-renowned academic units at University of Toronto: Mount Sinai Hospital & Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre.
He was trained by several eminent surgeons including Professor Allan Gross, Professor Hans Kreder, Professor Marvin Tile, Dr Joseph Schatzker.
He was awarded the Zane Cohen Fellowship Achievement Award by the University of Toronto; the first time this had been awarded to an orthopaedic surgeon.
In addition, he has collaborated in studies with various university departments and orthopaedic companies and is a reviewer for the Journal of Bone & Joint Surgery (Br) and JBJS Am.
He is also a fully qualified GP (non-practicing)

Benedict has an extensive and ongoing research portfolio covering basic science and clinical practice, incorporating collaborations with industry and various university departments.
PhD (2017) with thesis entitled “Optimising the Outcomes of Hip and Knee Replacements”
His interests include hip and knee arthroplasty, pelvic and acetabular surgery, lower limb trauma reconstructive surgery, outcome measures following joint replacement and orthopaedic training and education.
With an extensive and ongoing research portfolio covering basic science and clinical practice, he currently has over 120 publications, over 10 book chapters and over 80 presentations; including several at the British Orthopaedic Association and American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, with a number awarded prizes.
