Dr Zunaid Karim graduated from University College Dublin in 1993 and moved to Yorkshire in 1998 to undertake research and complete his specialist training. His thesis is on the Role of Ultrasound in Rheumatology practice. He joined Mid Yorkshire NHS Trust as a Consultant in Rheumatology in 2005.
He is a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians, Treasurer of the British Society of Rheumatology (BSR) and a member of the European League against Rheumatism (EULAR) Standing Committee of Musculoskeletal Imaging.
He is a European Federation of Societies for Ultrasound in Medicine and Biology level-3 accredited sonographer and a regular tutor on EULAR and BSR accredited ultrasound courses.

Dr Karim loves teaching functional anatomy and ultrasound.
Dr Karim's hobbies used to involve training and coaching children in football and rugby which led to coaching badges in both.
His current pastimes include running and cycling, and being an unskilled labourer for his wife in the garden.
Dr Karim's MD thesis is on the role of ultrasonography in rheumatology practice. He is well published in the Rheumatology Imaging Literature and remains involved in collaborative research.
