Dr Veronica Elizabeth Oliver-Jenkins

BsC (Hons) Psychology , DClinPsy – Doctorate in Clinical Psychology

I qualified as a Clinical Psychologist in 2002 and worked for a number of years in primary (e.g. GP practices) and secondary care (e.g. CMHT) adult mental health services. Offering psychological therapy to adults with commonly experienced mental health problems, such as depression and anxiety, as well as more severe and complex difficulties such as post-traumatic stress and personality disorder

I moved to a health psychology service in 2005 and initially worked across a range of medical specialties (e.g. cardiology, diabetes, renal, general medicine and surgery) supporting individuals to overcome psychological problems experienced as a result of ill health.  Going on to develop a special interest in cancer and palliative care.

I have worked in private practice across the north east region since qualifying in 2002.  I joined Newcastle Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in 2007 and have worked as a Consultant Clinical Psychologist within this organisation since 2010.
