Dr Wilbraham qualified as a doctor in 1989 from Liverpool Medical School and as a GP in 1994. Dr Wilbraham gained membership of the Royal College of General Practice and qualified as a GP trainer with a teaching certificate in medical and healthcare education.
Dr Wilbraham has worked in rural, suburban and urban practices and believes small, family orientated practices offer the most satisfying medicine for patients and doctors alike.
Dr Wilbraham has held hospital clinical assistant posts in psychiatry for the elderly, accident and emergency, care of the elderly and neurology giving more in depth knowledge of these areas.
As a GP appraiser Dr Wilbraham helps other GPs to achieve revalidation and reaccreditation. Dr Wilbraham was a member of the Clinical Performance Group for North East Essex PCT, with the remit of looking at possible underperformance in dentists, opticians and doctors in the area.
Dr Wilbraham also served on the Service Restrictions Panel where patients can appeal if treatment they feel they need is denied them by the NHS. This encouraged Dr Wilbraham to work in the private sector where there is no rationing of services and patients choose whether or not to pay for treatment.
Dr Wilbraham always wanted to be a GP. All through medical school and early training Dr Wilbraham’s aim was to be a family doctor. Over the last 20 years Dr Wilbraham has enjoyed the privilege and pleasure of getting to know her patients and their families. Dr Wilbraham’s belief is that as an independent GP she can continue to give a timely, individual, family orientated service in an excellent clinical environment.
Outside of work Dr Wilbraham enjoys spending time with her husband, daughters and the family dog. When time allows Dr Wilbraham also enjoys gardening, painting and reading.
