Dr Haynes qualified from University of Oxford, before completing psychiatric training in Bristol and the Severn Deanery.He gained specialist accreditation in Adult Psychiatry, with endorsements in addiction psychiatry and rehabilitation psychiatry.
He commenced work as a consultant in the NHS in 2007, and worked in a community team which assesses and treats a broad range of disorders including: depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety disorders including PTSD and OCD, personality disorder, schizophrenia, and alcohol and drug misuse. He now leads an early intervention in psychosis team.
Dr Haynes is Clinical Director for an NHS mental health trust. He is an Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer at the University of Bristol. He has published in the field of substance misuse and mood disorders.
