We would like to invite you to join us at our education event "Referrer education:  “PSA Testing and Prostate Cancer"

PSA Testing in Primary Care:  Hosted by Mr Blake-James

Knowledge of current practice is crucial to handle the ever-changing landscape of testing for prostate cancer, increasingly important given the publicity the disease is receiving.

Do you want to improve your knowledge of PSA testing and prostate cancer?

Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men in the UK, with over 40,000 men diagnosed with the disease every year. Prostate cancer is also the second most common cause of cancer death in men, though cancer death is potentially avoidable with early detection.

An ageing population means that the number of men who suffer from prostate cancer is set to increase.

A few simple points will help manage this common presentation.

This educational workshop will provide an update on:
•             Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia and Lower Urinary Tract Symptoms
•             Risk factors for prostate cancer
•             PSA testing and pitfalls to avoid
•             Diagnostic pathway
•             Prostate cancer treatment options

Timetable
18:30 - Registration and hot buffet
19:00 - Start

Places are limited and so must be booked in advance.
