The hospital is modern, purpose-built and well-equipped with 40 en suite bedrooms. There are 2 operating theatres and 1 minor/endoscopy suite, a busy outpatient department and physiotherapy, pathology and diagnostic imaging. It has an excellent reputation for clinical care, expertise and efficient friendly staff.

The hospital is conveniently situated in Clayton, close to the town of Newcastle. The railway station is just a short drive away and the hospital has easy road access from all directions.

Our main reception is located at the front of the building, whether attending as an inpatient, outpatient or visit, please report to the reception desk, where our team will be waiting to register and/or guide you to your required location.

During your stay you will be looked after by our multidisciplinary care team. Each one of the team wears a name badge with their job title on it, so you know exactly who there are.

Meals

During you stay we will provide you with an excellent choice of freshly prepared dishes that are both very appetising and appropriate to your care.  All are expertly served to you in your room by our ward serving staff.  Our menus are designed to cater for all special dietary requirements.

We will present you with menus each day and help you choose the most appropriate meal.

Visitors

Your visitors are welcome throughout the day, however we encourage all patients to rest between 1.30pm and 2.30pm and would therefore suggest that visits are planned around this quiet time.

Your recovery is of paramount importance and you may find that you are very tired following surgery.  With this in mind visitors are encouraged to leave by 9pm.

Car Parking

Free car parking is available at the hospital but this can be limited during peak times. Find us >

Visitors Meals

Your visitors are welcome to dine with you and can choose from our daily menu; orders will be taken by the ward serving staff.  Where possible we would appreciate orders for lunch by 10.30am and dinner by 4.00pm. Please note that visitor’s meals are chargeable and these will be added to your room account unless you advise otherwise.
