I strive to provide my clients with the tools to improve their own health and fitness with a special focus on mobility and recovery. Having worked at a desk for years and having recently recovered from back surgery with the help of Nuffield Health’s Recovery Plus programme, I understand all too well how difficult it can be to keep on top of our fitness as well as how important it is to listen to and interpret what our bodies are telling us. So whether you are rehabilitating an injury, have a performance goal in mind, or are simply looking to improve your everyday life, it is my passion to share what I have learned and to work with you on tailoring a programme and training sessions that will help you feel your absolute best.

About me
After years of working and training professional soldiers for the British Army within the Parachute regiment, I am bringing all my expert knowledge about training, fitness and mental and physical wellbeing to the members of Nuffield Health Milngavie.

I can provide you with a consistent working routine to implement progress and install a new lifestyle of work/family/exercises. Fresh and goal-specific training plans can be carried out for every member of the club who wants to take Personal Training with me. Every week we will add something new with teaching points or improvements on what we already have trained in the previous weeks.

Falling out with running? Take me on board and let's get you back out there collecting the miles/kilometres bagging your goal of 5km, 10km or further! Half marathons, full marathons or even an ultra-marathon. Use my knowledge and expertise to get you over the start line & finish line.

Hi there, my name is Shelly and I am delighted to have this opportunity to introduce myself and help you with your fitness goals!

Let me tell you a little bit about my background.  I stated off in the fitness industry as a sports coach teaching badminton, tennis and hockey before obtaining a degree in teaching.  With a passion for sports and exercise and a strong desire to help people, I graduated in 2018 with a diploma in personal training with advanced studies in rehabilitation and sports nutrition.  Since then, I have had the honour to help people on their fitness journeys.  This has varied from getting people started in the gym, to helping people realise and achieve their goals, be it changing body composition, gaining muscle or increasing their cardiovascular ability.  I have helped people recover from injury and helped individuals decrease the side effects of various conditions through exercise and nutrition.  I have also helped Sport Coaches, Physiotherapists and Athletes to meet their personal and professional goals.Whatever your goals are, where ever you are on your journey, I am here to help.  My approach to personal training is holistic with a focus on the overall wellbeing of my clients.  Everyone is unique with their own challenges, experiences, likes and dislikes.  No matter what challenges you face you CAN achieve your fitness goals and I am here to help by guiding you and being there with you every step of the way.  Together we've got this.  I believe in you!

I pride myself on teaching my clients the correct techniques and ways to exercise while providing you with a training plan so you know exactly what do to and when to do it. I strongly believe that everyone should be lifting some sort of weight to keep your bones dense helping prevent broken bones later in life, while building some lean muscle mass at the same time. Resistance training is for everyone; from assisting things like picking up your children to taking something off the top shelf at home - all of these things are assisted by having more strength and muscle mass while preventing injury. I look forward to meeting you and sharing my love for resistance training!
