About
Mr Monkhouse is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust and an Honorary Senior Lecturer at the University of Leeds.
He graduated from Edinburgh University Medical School and completed his orthopaedic training in Yorkshire. During the last three years of his training the emphasis was on foot and ankle surgery learning from eminent foot and ankle surgeons both in Yorkshire and the West Midlands.
Mr Monkhouse undertook a clinical foot and ankle fellowship at the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital in Birmingham. Whilst there he worked for Mr J Plewes and Mr M Herron and gained extensive experience in simple and complex hindfoot and forefoot surgery. Also under their expert tutelage he learned how to perform arthroscopic ankle procedures including arthroscopic ankle fusion.
Mr Monkhouse's practice consists of the entire spectrum of foot and ankle surgery. He has a particular interest in ankle arthroscopy and the arthroscopic management of ankle problems. In addition to this he routinely undertakes bunion and lesser toe surgery. He also treats arthritis of the ankle, hindfoot and forefoot.
