About
Mr Guy Paremain was appointed to the Royal Surrey County Hospital as a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon in 1998. For 25 years he has run a private practice at the Guildford Nuffield Hospital. His specialist interest is the diagnosis and treatment of Spinal pathology. Specifically, the management of low back pain and sciatica. The vast majority of the patients that he sees do not require Spinal surgery. Their problems can usually be managed by other means, such as correct physical therapy, medicines and sometimes pain killing injections. Mr Paremain no longer performs major operations in private hospitals, though he continues to perform routine procedures at the Royal Surrey.
When treating private patients, If non operative treatments fail and if he believes that spinal surgery could help, he will refer you to a local colleague for a further opinion.
He continues to develop a time efficient ‘One Stop’ spinal clinic at the Guildford Nuffield. When appropriate, patients who book this service will have an MRI scan and a consultation on the same day.
Mr Paremain is a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons and a member of the British Association of Spinal Surgeons
