About
Heena Patel is a Consultant General and Colorectal Surgeon at The Royal Sussex County Hospital, BSUH. She studied medicine at St. George’s, University of London and undertook her surgical training in London and the North East Thames region.
Her specialist training was at St. Mark’s Hospital, London with further fellowships at Queen Alexandra Hospital, Portsmouth (robotic surgery) and the national Ethicon Endo-Surgery Laparoscopic Colorectal Fellowship at Frimley Park Hospital.
Publications include from her thesis on anal cancer in immunosuppressed patients and meta-analysis on surgical outcomes of Crohn’s disease resections. She received the national Moynihan medal for original research at The Association of Surgeons of Great Britain Ireland in 2008.
