About

Dr Perkins has nearly 20 years experience as a consultant dermatologist initially in Nottingham and more recently Oxford. He established Mohs micrographic services in Nottingham and moved to Oxford to build on the service there: bringing his specialist skills in the management of skin cancer and rarer skin tumours such as Dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans. 

Dr Perkins has been skin cancer lead clinician and skin cancer specialist MDT lead clinician and has a broad experience in the diagnosis and management of skin cancer.

He maintains his interest in general dermatology and the management the whole range of skin rashes. He specialist skills in lasers for skin conditions and in injections for the management of hyperhidrosis, crow’s feet and Glabellar frown lines.

Dr Perkins offers consultations for MOHS at The Manor Hospital, treatment will take place at the Stratum Clinic Oxford.

Research

Over 40 peer reviewed publications on a wide range of subjects with a focus on skin cancer and evidence based medicine. National grants for the investigation of Raman spectroscopy for the identification of skin cancer in tissues at the time of surgery and the evidence based management of skin cancer (SCC). /Dr Perkins was one of the main investigators in the largest randomised controlled study in the management of Basal Cell Carcinoma of the skin.

He has been involved in randomised controlled trials for injections in the management of hyperhidrosis and cosmetic indications. He has published the largest series of cases utilising frozen section mohs micrographic surgery in the management of Dermatofibrosarcoma Protuberans.
