About
Dr Petkar is a Consultant Cardiologist who sees patients with a wide range of cardiac disorders. He has a special interest in patients presenting with palpitations, abnormal heart rhythms (arrhythmias), blackouts and heart failure. He undertakes investigations and treatment (electrophysiology study +/- ablation) for patients with abnormal heart rhythms (supraventricular tachycardia, atrial flutter, atrial fibrillation, etc). He also undertakes implantation of permanent pacemakers (for slow heart beats), implantable cardioveter defibrillators (ICDfor fast heart beats, ventricular tachycardia/ventricular fibrillation) and biventricular pacemakers/defibrillators (for treatment of refractory congestive heart failure).
Other interests
Palpitations, arrhythmias, syncope, blackouts, pacemakers, cardiac pacing, ECG, atrial fibrillation/flutter, implantable defibrillator, heart failure, ablation, supraventricular tachycardia and bivenctricular pacemakers/defibrillators.
