About
Dr Bajaj has been an NHS neurologist for 10 years. He runs an International Centre of Excellence for Parkinson’s Disease at Derby, an award winning Dementia service at Nottingham and a busy general neurology service at Derby Nuffield.
He has a national reputation in Parkinson’s disease, over £2.5M in grant funding and research programmes in neurodegenerative diseases.
He has been Clinical lead in Neurology in Derby, Training Programme Director in Neurology in Nottingham and Special Advisory Committee member (Trent) for Neurology nationally.

Research
Dr Bajaj has extensive experience in clinical trials in Parkinson’s disease and dementia. He is a co-applicant on PROBAND (Tracking Parkinson’s disease - £1.63M) and an MRC DPFMS grant on Alzheimer’s (£900K). He has been involved in several collaborative projects in imaging (MRI and SPECT) as applied to degenerative disorders and an extensive publication record. Dr Bajaj has been a committee member of the Parkinson’s Clinical Studies Group of DeNDRoN (Dementia and Neurodegenerative Diseases network) for 6 years.
He is extensively published in basic science and clinical translational work in neurodegenerative disorders. Dr Bajaj has a PhD in Molecular Neuroscience from University of London and an MA in Pharmacology (First Class) from Cambridge.
