About
Dr Nick Child a consultant cardiologist and electrophysiologist working in Chichester and Southampton. He has an interest in all forms of cardiology and has specialised training in the management of abnormal heart rhythms, complex cardiac pacemakers and cardiac MRI.
Having completed his general cardiology training in a number of hospitals around Hampshire and Dorset, he underwent dedicated electrophysiology and complex device fellowships initially at Southampton and Bournemouth, and subsequently a further post-training fellowship at Guy's and St Thomas' Hospital in London. Dr Child is internationally accredited in both electrophysiology and cardiac devices via the International Board of Heart Rhythm Examiners. He has also had additional training in cardiac MRI and is fully accredited with the Society of Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance.
Dr Child's main NHS practice is at St Richards Hospital in Chichester where he manages the full range of general cardiology conditions and runs a specialist heart rhythm clinic. He performs a wide variety of procedures locally including diagnostic coronary angiography, pacemakers, cardiac resynchronisation pacemakers, implantable defibrillators, echocardiography and cardiac MRI. He is also an honorary consultant at University Hospital Southampton where he performs electrophysiology procedures.

Research
Dr Child has a broad research interest and has recently completed his MD with King's College London, and published on a wide variety of topics including atrial fibrillation, ventricular tachycardia, cardiac physiology and cardiac MRI. He currently has 32 peer-reviewed publications including a number as first author and has been invited to give presentations at international conferences.
