About
Dr Putchakayala trained in rheumatology in Manchester and was appointed Consultant Rheumatologist at Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in 2008. He currently runs specialist combined clinics with Orthopaedic colleagues ( hand/ foot and ankle) and a combined high risk obstetric clinic and musculoskeletal ultrasound clinic in addition to general rheumatology clinics. He developed Osteoporosis assessment and treatment pathways for Mid Cheshire Hospitals.
Dr Putchakayala has a keen interest in training and he is currently Deputy Training Programme director for rheumatology in Mersey Deanery.

Dr Putchakayala earned his MSc with honours from the University of Manchester after completing a research project in treatment adherence in Lupus Patients.
He is the Principal Investigator representative on Research and Development Committee at the Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Trust and Principal Investigator for 3 NIHR portfolio studies in rheumatology at Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Trust.
