About

Dr London graduated from St Thomas’ Hospital Medical School in 1990. In 1996 he was appointed to the post of Clinical Lecturer at the Royal Liverpool University Hospital, supervised by Professor Jonathon Rhodes. His main interest has always been in clinical medicine and in giving to patients the best possible care.

He took up his first consultant post at Mid Cheshire Hospitals trust in 1999. Whilst in Crewe he developed the IBD, viral liver and alcohol services, an iron deficiency anaemia clinic and managed many very complex speciality patients. As Clinical Lead in Gastroenterology and Endoscopy for the Trust and then subsequently as the Clinical Director of the Cheshire Bowel Screening Program, Dr London helped to build a team delivering high-quality bowel screening whilst gaining extensive experience working as a consultant treating both gastroenterology patients and general medical inpatients.

With 16 years of consultant experience, he moved post in October 2015 to support the development of a larger Gastroenterology Unit based at the Countess of Chester Hospital where they have developed a 24-hour speciality rota to enable them to treat patients presenting with unstable gastrointestinal bleeding quickly whatever time and day they present.

Other interests

Mr London is a member of the teaching faculty at the Mersey school of Endoscopy where he helps to train the next generation of colonoscopists and endoscopists performing therapeutic endoscopic procedures.
