Dr Gethin Ellis

Gethin is a dually accredited Consultant in Cardiology and General Medicine at the Royal Glamorgan Hospital in the newly formed Cwm Taf NHS Trust. He read medicine at the University of Sheffield, achieving an intercalated degree in the medical microbiology department during the course of his studies and graduating in medicine in 1990. He returned to Wales to complete general postgraduate training and later became a specialist registrar in cardiovascular medicine on the all Wales training scheme. During the course of his specialty training he was awarded a British Heart Foundation fellowship researching chronic heart failure at the Wales Heart Research Institute and gained an MD with distinction in 2000. Having attained specialist accreditation in 2001 he was appointed as a Consultant at the Royal Glamorgan Hospital in the same year and became a Fellow in the Royal College of Physicians in 2005.
