Autoimmune Hepatitis
Hepatitis is an inflammation of your liver. Autoimmune hepatitis is chronic (long term or persistent) hepatitis.
The cause of autoimmune hepatitis is unknown. But left untreated this condition can cause scarring (cirrhosis) of your liver.
Symptoms of autoimmune hepatitis can develop gradually over time. These may include:
- Feeling tired
- Joint or muscle pains
- Nausea or vomiting
- Jaundice
- Fever
- Abdominal pain
Since these symptoms could be a result of many conditions, it is important to get an accurate diagnosis.
