External expert joins Nuffield Health’s Quality Committee

Leading not-for-profit healthcare organisation Nuffield Health has announced that a new independent member will be joining its Board Quality and Safety Committee (BQSC) to provide additional healthcare expertise.

Roger Taylor brings over 25 years of experience ranging from co-founding Dr Foster, which provides healthcare analysis and clinical benchmarking solutions for healthcare organisations. Roger was also an adviser to the Care Quality Commission and is currently on the board of Ofqual, as well as a member of their Audit and Risk Committee.

The BQSC provides assurance on behalf of the Board of Governors that our processes are Safe, Effective, Caring, Responsive and well-led. It also oversees the information that enables patients, members, staff, partners, customers and regulators to judge the safety and effectiveness of all our activities.

Dr Davina Deniszczyc, Nuffield Health Medical Executive Director says: “We are pleased to be taking this significant step forward, demonstrating our commitment to the highest possible standards of care. We look forward to benefiting from Roger’s unique expertise in using information to increase transparency and drive quality improvement”.

Roger Taylor comments on his new role: “Measurement and use of information are challenges across all healthcare systems.  My previous experience lends itself well to working with Nuffield Health, which places such importance on being able to demonstrate best care and outcomes.”
