Every course of treatment starts with a 45-minute initial assessment to assess your symptoms, then recommend the right plan for you and begin treatment. Follow-up appointments are 30 minutes. Your physiotherapist will advise how many appointments you will need but you can stop treatment at any time. *Treatment price does not include specialist pelvic health physiotherapy appointments.

Why use the Wessex Hospital for your physiotherapy treatment?

Ideally located just 2 minutes from junction 12 of the M3, our Wessex Hospital serves local towns such as Southampton and Winchester, but also allows good access from areas further afield like the New Forest, Salisbury, Newbury, Andover, the Meon Valley and Fareham.

We house a large physiotherapy team made up of highly qualified and experienced therapists, all with slightly different clinical interests meaning we can provide treatment for all musculoskeletal, orthopaedic and sports injury conditions including:

The physio department is also very fortunate to have a large hydrotherapy pool, one of the only pools in Hampshire and is an excellent treatment modality for post-op orthopaedic patients, as well as acute conditions like back pain and more chronic problems like osteoarthritis.

Our physiotherapists are situated within the hospital meaning we have very strong links with many of the consultants from Southampton, Winchester, Basingstoke and Portsmouth, seeing them on an almost daily basis. This allows communication to be highly efficient and ensuring integrated and effective patient treatment.

Qualification, registration and governance

All the physiotherapists that work at the Nuffield Health Wessex Hospital are members of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy and registered with the Health Professions Council.

Early in my career I developed a special interest in hand therapy and am member of the British Association of Hand Therapy. Since 2001 I have lead the hand therapy service at the Wessex Hospital.

I have organised courses and presented to both national and local colleagues with Nuffield Health. I am able to provide acupuncture as a treatment for pain relief and find this particularly useful for conditions like tennis elbow.

I graduated from King's College University in 2001 and have gained many years of experience working across both NHS and private settings. Having completed 3 years of rotational physiotherapy roles in the NHS after qualifying, I then worked in France for 4 years before returning to the UK and joining Nuffield Health in 2008.

Clinically, I specialise in Orthopaedic Surgery and Hand Therapy, working closely with the consultants in the hospital to ensure we are getting the best outcomes for our post-op patients, both as inpatients and as they return for their outpatient treatment with the rest of the team.

The majority of my time is now spent supporting my team. I have been managing the Physiotherapy and Health Screening Team here at Wessex Nuffield Hospital for the past 5 years.

I work as a Senior Physiotherapist, in a team of vibrant knowledgeable experienced colleagues.

I have worked at Nuffield Health for over 15 years giving professional caring treatment to clients with all musculoskeletal complaints, including a vast array of post-surgical patients. I take pride in giving personal empathetic treatment to all clients during their journey in Physiotherapy. My special interest is Women’s health/ continence, concentrating on pelvic health. Close working links exist not only between other Nuffield Health physiotherapists in this field, but with Consultant Specialists and Nurse Specialists.

Outside of the 9-5, I pursue my love of cycling, and hockey and regularly join friends sailing on the South Coast and its lovely water.
