Mr Lacy-Colson attended the University of Leeds Medical School and completed his basic surgical training at the University Hospital of North Staffordshire in Stoke-on-Trent. He undertook a period of research into colorectal cancer, which has been presented internationally, and for which he has been awarded an MD by Keele University.
Mr Lacy-Colson then undertook his higher surgical training on the West Midlands rotation. Following this he was appointed as the first international visiting Fellow of the Colorectal Surgical Society of Australia and New Zealand at Westmead Hospital in Sydney, Australia. During his time in Australia he concentrated on laparoscopic (keyhole) surgery for colorectal cancer and the assessment of pelvic floor disorders.
Other interests:
Mr Lacy-Colson specialises in general and colorectal surgery and commonly treats the following conditions: colorectal cancer and polyps, diverticular disease, inflammatory bowel disease (Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis), faecal incontinence, piles, anal fissures, anal fistula, pilonidal sinus, rectal prolapse, functional bowel problems, gallstones and hernias.
