About
Mr Hargreaves' clinical practice exclusively involves conditions of the upper limb – ie hand, wrist and elbow. These include traumatic and rheumatological problems. His particular interest in arthroscopic surgery of the wrist and elbow has led to the development of new techniques such as capsular shrinkage of the wrist. He regularly treat sports injuries including professional sailors, cricketers, footballers and boxers.
Mr Hargreaves takes pride in the personalised service offered to patients. He works closely with Physiotherapists, Hand Therapists and Rheumatologists and encourages a multidisciplinary approach when appropriate.
Plastic and microsurgical skills were learned while training in London. His specialist training in Hand Surgery was gained in London and Sydney, Australia. He has been on visiting fellowships to Zurich and the Mayo Clinic in the USA which are also world-leading centres, to learn the most current developments in my specialist field.

Personal interests
When not involved with clinical or academic responsibilities, Mr Hargreaves' life revolves around his home in Romsey, either gardening or helping with his wife’s Antiques Business.
His other hobbies include: golf (he belongs to Southampton Medical Golfing Society and has a handicap of 14). He is Club Team Standard in tennis, having previously trained as a Tennis Coach. He also enjoys dinghy sailing (enterprises and lasers).
Holidays are usually spent at the family home in Jersey or skiing.
