About
Dr Imtiaz Ahmed is a Consultant Neurologist at Nuffield Health Brentwood Hospital specialising in Epilepsy, movement disorders, multiple sclerosis and stroke medicine.
Dr Ahmed received his MBBS in India in 1995. He then completed his clinical research in Stroke in the Young leading to MD degree in 2001.
Dr Ahmed trained extensively in General Medicine, Stroke and Parkinson’s disease in the Cambridge Deanery and did research in Parkinson’s Disease, Dementia and Dyskinesias in Hammersmith Hospital, Imperial College London. He also completed training in National Hospital of Neurology and Neurosurgery, Queen Square. He was awarded a MD (Res) degree and DIC from Imperial College London and completed his Specialist Neurology training in Severn Deanery Bristol. He received MRCP in Neurology in 2010. He also completed a fellowship in Interventional Neuroradiology in Zurich, Switzerland. In 2012 he was made a Fellow of the European National Board.
Dr Ahmed is a Consultant in Neurology in Colchester Hospital University Foundation Trust. He is also involved in teaching students and junior doctors in Colchester. His areas of interest are Parkinson’s Disease and other movement disorders, Cerebrovascular Diseases, Dementia, Headache and General Neurology.

Movement disorders, Parkinson's disease, dementia, stroke and cerebrovascular diseases, epilepsy, headache, treatment for cervical dystonia, blepharospasm, hemifacial spasm, Siallorhoea in Parkinson’s disease and spasticity.
